A WAY ~ not a destination ♡ COSTA RICA
My recent time in Costa Rica, working on a retreat, has been one of those rare experiences that feels less like travel and more like a gentle shift in perspective. I’ve been fortunate enough to see many parts of the world over the years, but very few leave me with the feeling that I could retu - not just for a holiday, but to truly live. Costa Rica is one of those places.
There’s a warmth here that goes far beyond the climate. It’s in the people, their openness, their kindness, their unhurried way of being. It’s in the way life feels simpler, yet somehow fuller. Time stretches differently here; it softens, allowing you to breathe a little deeper and notice a little more.
Working on the retreat has been equally special. There’s something powerful about stepping away from the noise of everyday life and creating space for movement, for connection, for stillness.
Watching people arrive, often tired or disconnected, and slowly open up over the days… it’s a reminder of why I do what I do.
The shared energy, the conversations, the laughter, even the quiet moments, it all feels meaningful.
Then there’s everything in between the adventure, the beauty, the moments that make you feel completely alive. Flying through the treetops on zip lines, heart racing and laughing like a child again.
Hiking through lush jungle trails to hidden waterfalls, where the air feels cooler and time seems to pause. Each experience feels raw, real, and deeply connected to the land.
The food has been another highlight fresh, vibrant, and made with care. Meals that bring people together, nourishing not just the body but the whole experience.
Simple ingredients, beautifully prepared, shared around a table with stories, laughter, and that easy sense of community that seems to happen so naturally here.
The wildlife… it’s everywhere, if you slow down enough to notice. The sounds of the jungle, the flashes of colour, the sense that you’re stepping into nature rather than just observing it. It’s humbling and grounding all at once.
Nature plays its part in a way that’s impossible to ignore. The ocean, the jungle, the rhythm of the days shaped by sunrise and sunset it invites you to slow down and come back to yourself. It’s grounding and uplifting all at once.
What I’ve taken from this experience isn’t just memories, but a feeling a sense of alignment, of possibility, of something I’d like more of in my life.
Costa Rica has a way of showing you that there’s another pace, another way to live, and once you’ve felt it, it’s hard to forget.
Thanking all who were able to to share this experience with me. Especially Katie who without her this wouldn't of happened! From the bottom of my heart ♡ There’s no photo album big enough or memory deep enough to hold all these special moments....but we were there ♥️ Suzanne xx
